The Transport Minister is set to discuss the future of Waterford Airport today.
It's understood Waterford Airport Officials have been having detailed discussions with a number of airline carriers.
They're aiming to secure a new route to the UK after the airport's last service stopped last year.
It's been 8 months since VLM pulled the plug on the Waterford to London Luton service.
The Transport Minister, Shane Ross, is expected to meet with management at the Airport for the first time since VLM's departure this afternoon.
Currently the runway at the airport is too short for the majority of commercial aircraft making it difficult to attract airlines.
