A toddler has died after being struck by a giant hailstone in Spain.
The 20-month-old girl was injured after ice the size of tennis balls rained down in the Catalonia region yesterday.
Local media say around 50 other people were hurt, with broken bones and bruises.
The hail is said to have only fell for 10 minutes, but that it was 10 minutes of terror among locals.
Meteorologists said the hailstones that fell in the region near Spain's border with France were the largest seen in almost 20 years.
The toddler was reportedly rushed to hospital in the nearby city of Girona but tragically died during the night from her injuries.
Parts of the region remained on storm alert on Wednesday.
