Tipperary TD calls for investigation into insurers refusing cover on cars over 10 years old

Tipperary's Independent TD Mattie McGrath believes a pay as you go system should be the way to approach insurance.

It comes after McGrath called on Michael D'arcy, the Minister of State with special responsibility for Financial Services and Insurance, to investigate insurance companies who deny insurance to cars over 10 years old.

McGrath says that despite having a valid NCT, some insurance companies are refusing to offer any type of policy cover, simply because a car is over a decade old.
