Well-known solicitor Richard Grogan has passed away.
The Law Society has described him as a "tireless advocate, both in proceedings and in the public arena."
It is understood that Richard was unwell for a number of months.
He was named Lawyer of the Year just three weeks ago at the Irish Law Awards, which he attended.
Posting to Instagram on November 4th, Richard wrote: "This day last week I was with my colleagues at the Irish Law Awards where I won Lawyer of the Year. This would not have been possible without a great team supporting me."

He became well known on TikTok and Instagram in recent years for educating people on legal issues, with his classic send-off "that's the law and that's a fact" becoming legendary.
In the moments following the announcement of this death, several friends of the much-loved solicitor paid tribute to him on social media.
RIP Richard Grogan. He had been unwell for some months but wore his illness with bravery and stoicism. His work in making employment law accessible to the consumer and in the most simple terms will never be forgotten.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague Richard Grogan. We were on the opposite side of a few matters but I always found him firm but fair. He is a tremendous loss to the profession. May he Rest In Peace.
