This year's leaving cert results might be delayed.
Students will sit the exams for the first time since the covid pandemic this year, however the Irish Times reports the results, usually issued in mid-August, may be released later this year.
It's to accommodate a deferred sitting of the exams for students who may be affected by covid 19 during the initial run from June 8th to 28th, and to achieve the Government's pledge that this years exam results will be no lower than last years.
The paper says it's raising concerns among third level institutions that it could delay the start of their academic year.
