The government have today announced that 88 projects are to be allocated a total of €100 million under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund.
It's all part of the Project Ireland 2040 plan; in the South East, almost €20 million has been allocated.
In Kilkenny, over 4.7 million euro has been granted for a "public realm" and "Riverside enhancement" for the Abbey Quarter in Kilkenny.
Just over €800,000 has been earmarked for the further regeneration of Carlow Town.
In Wexford, two million euro will go towards the Trinity Wharf Project while Tipperary will see two projects developed.
The Kickham Barrack Sports Hub in Clonmel and Liberty Square Regeneration project in Thurles have been allocated more than €4.2 million in funding.
Meanwhile Waterford is to receive €7.35 million as part of the fund.
€1.35 million is for the regeneration of Tramore town centre, while €6 million is for the construction of the pedestrian bridge linking the city's North and South Quays.
It's largest single allocation from the fund and Minister John Halligan has said that the bridge is one of the most critical pieces of enabling infrastructure for the redevelopment of the North Quays.
