The Franciscan Province of Ireland have announced today that they will no longer have a presence in Waterford.
It will mean from May onwards, there will no longer be a residency in the city and the Clonmel branch of the institute will take charge of their Church in Lady Lane.
In recent years, the friars worked as chaplains in University Hospital Waterford, as well as WIT and formerly the Regional Technical College in the city.
