The Irish Farmer's Journal is launching their third edition of the 'Junior Journal 'in November and they're looking for children around the country to get involved.
The paper is aimed at 7-14 year olds and wants to educate the younger demographic on farming and rural life.
It comes as feedback from the Farmer's Journal readers showed many children are interested in the content of the regular publication but sometimes struggle to understand the language.
Amy McKeever, editor of the Irish country living section explained how this came about.
"We had a lot of correspondence from kids that are not living on farms themselves but they go to their uncles or their grandad's farms. And because a lot of these are single enterprise farms, they're very familiar with dairy and they're very familiar with beef but they don't know anything about tillage and they want to learn about crops.
We had requests like that and so for those articles our technical experts are writing them using a form of language that children can understand, then the features are more written by the kids."
The Junior Journal was first introduced in June with a second edition coming out in August, the paper is hoping to publish the third one in late November.
"We're very proud in the Farmer's Journal that we have something for everyone, so I'm really looking for young kids that are interested in agriculture, interested in their food interested in rural life to get in contact with us to write an article or let us know what questions they want answered."
