Tesco Ireland is calling on its customers to support their local charity for this year's Christmas Appeal.
Over the course of two days, Tesco will be asking shoppers to pick up just one item from their shopping basket for donation to a local charity.
Kicking off from Friday, December 1st until Saturday, December 2nd in selected stores, Tesco Ireland's Christmas Appeal will see a 'shopping list' of potential items for donation posted for Tesco shoppers in-store.
This year's shopping list has been expanded to include toiletries, nappies and small clothing items, as well as all the usual non-perishables (biscuits, tea bags, breakfast cereals etc).
Commenting on the appeal, Tesco Corporate Affairs Director, Christine Heffernan, said: "Our Christmas Appeal is a really important milestone for us each year and we are proud to say that we have collected over €400,000 worth of food for families since 2014 through this appeal alone.
"Christmas is one of the happiest times of year for most families. For others, it can be difficult and local charitable organisations do a huge amount to help families in need during the season", she said.
This Christmas, Tesco has 125 partner causes who will benefit from your donations, including The Peter McVerry Trust, St. Vincent de Paul and Forage to name just a few.
So why not pop over to your local Tesco across the first two days of December and make any donation possible.
