A community in Gorey is in shock today following the tragic death of a 14-year-old girl during a Gaelic Football training session yesterday.
Ciara Ryan died as a result of a suspected brain haemorrhage after training with Kilanerin GAA Club in the town yesterday.
It's believed she was going for a ball towards the end of the session, and collapsed saying she had a pain in her leg.
She was tended to by a paramedic who was nearby, and a local doctor arrived on the scene minutes later
She was transferred by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Kilanerin GAA Club said she 'was a bright star and an example to everyone. Our thoughts are with Anthony, Trish, Jack and Eabha.'
