Both petrol and diesel prices have increased by over a quarter compared with last year.
New figures from the AA show the cost of filling up is at a record high, with petrol at 1 euro 72 point 6 cent a litre.
Diesel isn't too far behind at 1 euro 63-point-3 cent a litre.
AA Ireland says it's a worrying trend that's going to get worse and worse until policymakers take action.
Limerick's Richard O'Donoghue drove the cab into the Leinster House car park this morning before a stand-off with ushers about whether he could park it there.
The TD, who was wearing a John Deere jacket, says it's to send a clear message to the Government.

Meanwhile, a massive protest is planned for tomorrow on several routes into Dublin city as well as within the city centre.
It's being organised by the Irish Truckers and Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices.
It's expected to cover routes including the M1, M2, M3, M4, M7, and the M11, with vehicles travelling in convoy to Leinster House, starting at 7am.
Gardai are warning the protest may impact commuter traffic, and they're advising people who plan to travel to Dublin to plan accordingly.
