The Taoiseach has opened a new state-of-the-art 40-bed Modular Unit in Tipperary University Hospital.
It measures 3,300 square meters, is the largest modular ward extension in the country, and has a two-story accommodation block linked to the main hospital.

It features 40 single en-suite bedrooms, reception and lounge areas, kitchen facilities, staff changing rooms, storerooms, and drug preparation facilities.
Micheál Martin says this extra capacity will have a significant impact on the care provided for communities in South Tipperary, North Tipperary, and West Waterford.
