This evening, the DCU Media Production Society will begin a 24 hour live broadcast.
An event that they've ran over the last few years coming up to Christmas, is all in aid of Charities.
This year, they've decided that the Peter McVerry trust would be their chosen charity.
DCU student, Laura Horan, who is part of the broadcast, was homeless herself as a child.
Laura told Beat:
"Basically the live broadcast is a 24 hour broadcast so is going on from 9pm on friday to 9pm on saturday this week.
It's full of students from DCU who create shows. Half hour shows mostly but we have some flagship shows that go on for an hour and a half aswell.
We do everything from comedies to documentaries and it's all in aid of the Peter McVerry trust"
Laura also explained by they picked this charity:
"A couple of week ago I wanted to share my story of being homeless with my friends on the committee on the MPS because every single year we do the 24 hour broadcast we also do it for a charity that is close to home for a student on the MPS so we can focus it on student life.
So I made a video about my experience of being homeless and it went viral.
It's an important charity, especially for those who find themselves in unfortunate circumstances".
