Extreme care is advised on the Promenade in Tramore due to high winds and sea spray this afternoon.
Storm Erik is approaching Ireland and is due to bring high seas and strong winds nationwide.
Gusts of up to 130 kilometres an hour are expected in parts of the west, where a status orange warning is in place.
Meanwhile, Gerard O'Flynn from the Coast Guard says people need to be extremely careful when walking near the coast in Stormy Conditions today:
"stay back, stay dry and stay high, because these are unpredictable.....so don't take unnecessary risk"
