An nationwide orange weather warning comes into affect at 2pm, Saturday 15th December.
Storm Deirdre is set to move quickly throughout the country in the afternoon and evening, making its way to the Irish Sea tonight.
Winds in Waterford, Wexford and Tipperary are set to read peak highs in the afternoon while they are expected to hit Kilkenny and Carlow in the early evening.

Flooding has been seen already in Waterford, Kilkenny and Carlow with road users being blocked off in some regional parts of the South East.

spot flooding at Carroll’s Cross and on some secondary roads.
The River Clodagh in Portlaw is very high with a number of roads into the town nearly impassible as water overflows from the river.

Events have been cancelled/postponed throughout the South East due to the weather.
In Tipperary, the Christmas Tractors of Carrick on Suir run has been postponed until tomorrow.
In Gaelic Games, the O'Byrne Cup match that saw Wexford welcome Laois to Enniscorthy has also been postponed.

Meanwhile in rugby, the Leisnter game is still set to go ahead today.
