A yellow wind warning is in place for Wexford, Waterford, Clare, Cork and Kerry.
The warning is in place from this afternoon until Saturday the 20 August at 12:00.
Forecaster with Met Eireann Wilhelmina Phelan told Beat News, "the strongest winds will be this evening, tonight and early tomorrow morning.
The advice is to be aware these strong gusty winds could cause difficult driving conditions - especially for high vehicles and also for cyclists on the road.
There's another fact that the wind is going to make high waves, especially around high tide.
It is important to be aware the high waves could cause problems and make a dangerous visit to the beach."
