Stark figures released show one in four Irish men with suicidal thoughts didn't get help

One in four men in Ireland who had suicidal thoughts in the last year did not reach out for help.

That's one of the findings in a new Samaritans survey which highlights the stigma around men seeking support.

Some of the main worries for them include employment issues, relationship problems and financial burdens.

The charity also found that more than three in 10 men, who were asked, said they often feel alone.
