The wait is over for South-East students today as the Leaving Cert results are released.
Over 58,000 sat the exams in June, with the number of students taking higher levels subjects rising since the announcement of the new marking system.
This year sees the system change to a nonlinear marking system that will create a larger distinction between grades and levels.
It will also see the reduction of grades, reducing the previous amount of 14 to 8.
Dr Derek O'Byrne, Vice president for Academic Affairs and Registrar for Waterford Institute of Technology, Dr Derek O Byrne has this advice for students receiving results today.
"When you calculate your points, it will look a little bit different from last year they will look a little different, but don't compare them.
"That will probably leave a bit of a gap for people, where they're a little bit nervous between now and the release of the CAO allocations Monday.
"The broad piece of advice is to enjoy your leaving cert results, celebrate responsibly and don't worry too much".
