Representatives from eight major British tour operators have visited the South East to see what's on offer here.
The visit was organised by Failte Ireland to promote Ireland's Ancient East, Ireland's newest tourism initiative.
Failte Ireland will now be hoping the operators include the South East in their holiday programmes for 2017.
Mary Hoolihan is Programme Manager of Ireland's Ancient East - she says the region made a good impression on the visitors.
"They visited Kilkenny, Carlow and yesterday they visited the museums in the Viking Triangle and the House of Waterford Crystal, and they were extremely impressed by the quality of the products on offer, and felt that Waterford was certainly a destination that they would consider including in the 2017 programmes for their clients in the UK."
