Gardai believe it may be weeks before they identify skeletal remains which were found in Co Wexford.
A dog walker found the remains in a ditch at Ballyandrew, near Ferns at half eleven this morning.
Technical officers will attend the scene in the morning and a post mortem is expected to be carried out tomorrow.
Gardai say it's too early to establish the age or gender of the remains which are believed to be completely skeletal.
The services of an anthropologist may be required.
