Sinn Fein is calling on people to protest the new bin charges.
Under the plans, households will pay for waste by either weight or lift.
The party is tabling an emergency motion calling for the charges to be scrapped.
Sinn Fein TD for Waterford David Cullinane explains the party's stance on the issue:

"Already people have seen escalating costs in recent years, and to be faced with further costs without any certainty about how much that will cost is obviously a concern.
"The big concern we have is that those large families with low incomes will be the ones that are hit the hardest and this will be a punitive charge.
"For all those reasons, we have prepared a private members motion, calling the government not to proceed with this."
