Bitterly cold weather looks to be on the cards from this weekend.
Easterly winds are forecast to move across Ireland, pulling a polar air mass over the South East.
With the cold weather comes an increased likelihood of significant snowfall, however, it's still a little too far out to make a definite call on if and where the white stuff could fall.
The most recent charts show cold air arriving over Ireland on Saturday before becoming increasingly cold up until Tuesday.
The situation looks set to improve going into Wednesday as the cold air mass recedes eastwards.

While Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly stated that the weather would be "very cold" he stopped short of calling the cold spell a return of the 'Beast from the East".
"This isn’t a real beast, [but] certainly very cold with potential for snow", he said.
"The overnight weather models increase the risk of a significant cold spell with a risk of disruptive snow also increasing. Too far out for the details but cold Easterly winds will arrive over the weekend and hard to know how long they will last."
