There are concerns of serious flooding issues in many parts of the region this evening.
The South East has been under a Status Yellow Rainfall Alert all day with heavy rainfall affecting all counties.
Kilkenny County Council has issued a flood alert for Thomastown and Inistioge, warning locals to make the necessary preparations.

In Tipperary, the N24 is flooded at Kilsheelan between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir and Gardaí advise motorists to avoid the route if possible. There also spot flooding on the N76 outside the town.

Gardaí in Tipperary Town report heavy flooding on several routes in the area, including the Dundrum Rd (R661) and Galbally Rd (R662).
There are reports of spot flooding on routes around Fethard. Caution needed.
There is flooding on the N77 from Kilkenny to Castlecomer at Dunmore Recycling Facility this road is passable with care

In Kilkenny, there is flooding affecting the Johnstown/Kilkenny Rd (R693) at Freshford. Motorists are advised to avoid Freshford and take the N77 via Ballyragget instead.
Gardaí report that the Thomastown Rd (R699) out of Knocktopher near Moanroe Cross is impassible due to flooding.
The Thomastown/Inistioge Rd (R700) is impassable at Brownsbarn Bridge. Avoid the area.
North of Kilkenny City, Bleach Rd is impassable due to flooding.
The Callan/Goatsbridge Rd (R699) is flooded approx. 1km east of Callan. Take an alternative route.

In Wexford, flooding is affecting the northbound lane of the N11 between Ferns and Camolin. South of Enniscorthy, Edermine Bridge is closed due to flooding.

The message from AA Roadwatch is to only drive through water if you know it's not too deep for your car. If you have to drive through standing water, drive through the centre of the road as that is the highest point.
On wet roads, reduce your speed and keep a safe distance from whoever is in front. Be particularly mindful of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
