The government party leaders have agreed schools should reopen as planned on Thursday.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin, Tanaiste Leo Varadkar and Transport Minister Eamon Ryan discussed the issue at their meeting earlier.
Talks are ongoing between teachers' unions and the Education Minister over the Covid safety measures in place.
Norma Foley will hear calls for the reopening to be staggered and for additional funding to be made available for air filtration devices.

Both the TUI and ASTI have raised concerns about reopening in light of poor ventilation in schools and large staff shortages due to Covid-19.
Principal of Carlow Educate Together Simon Lewis says the funding supplied for HEPA filters for classrooms, didn't cover their full cost.
"If the Government could centralise the delivery of some of the C02 monitors they could of done the same for HEPA filters - I mean that's something again that could be done."
