Young people want to see faster progress when it comes to delivering sex education in schools.
Youth Work Ireland says the slow pace of change when it comes to discussing issues like sexuality and consent in the classroom is causing deep frustration.
The group is today launching an online petition aimed at starting a conversation to speed up the process.
Michael McLaughlin from Youth Work Ireland said young people are determined to change how sex education is taught.
Mr McLaughlin said: "They want a broader framework of relationship, sexuality, talking about LGBT, talking about consent, talking about a whole range of issues for young people today.
"That is reflected in what the National Council for curriculum assessment is saying, it's just that people see it move very slow, they would like to see that process move a lot quicker in terms of changing the curriculum or what happens in schools."
