Vladimir Putin's been giving a national address on Russian TV about Ukraine, which the West fears could be the start of a pretext to an invasion.
The Kremlin says the leader will sign a decree recognising the independence of two breakaway regions in Ukraine.

Donetsk and Luhansk have been occupied by Russian-back separatists since 2014, and this latest development is seen as a possible prelude to an invasion of Ukraine, with the Kremlin saying it's in the face of military aggression from Ukraine.
Kyiv denies it has any plans to launch a military attack on the separatist regions.
