Royal Mail workers have planned six fresh strike days in the coming weeks, including a strike on Christmas Eve.

These strike days are separate from the strikes already declared for November 24th, 25th, 30th and December 1st.

On previous strike days, An Post issued the following advice to customers:

  • Post and parcel delivery will not take place on these days, throughout the United Kingdom & Northern Ireland
  • There will be no change to the An Post service.
  • An Post will continue to send and receive post and parcels to/from UK & NI during this time.
  • Customers may experience some delays with post and parcels coming from and delivery within the UK & NI, while strikes are ongoing.

The Communications Workers Union, representing Royal mail staff gas said its members will be walking out on December 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 23rd and 24th.

A spokesperson for the union has said that they want "a negotiated settlement with Royal Mail Group and will continue to engage the company to that end."

"Those in charge of Royal Mail need to wake up and realise we won't allow them to destroy the livelihoods of postal workers," they said.
