Road in Dungarvan remains closed this morning after horrific crash

Gardai in Dungarvan, County Waterford are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the outskirts of the town  yesterday morning.

Three men died in the two car collision that happened on Military road on the outskirts of the town at around 9.30am.

The six people including children who were in the other car had to be air lifted to two separate hospitals for treatment.

One of the cars went on fire and the stretch of road remains closed this morning.

Gardai are appealling for witnesses who may have travelled the road and saw something to contact them.

Speaking last night Local Cllr Seamus O'Donnell says the community is in shock:

"I'd know the road very well, I often travel that road myself but it was a complete shock to the Dungarvan area."

The road will remain closed until further notice and anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time and can assist the Gardai with their investigation is urged to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058-48600 or any Garda Station.
