Right-to-die campaigner says she is receiving death threats

Gardai are investigating death threats to a woman who is campaigning for her right to die.

Waterford woman Kate Tobin lives in Clonroche Co Wexford and sufferes from multiple sclerosis.

Speaking to the Sunday World, Kate Tobin said she received death threats on three seperate occasions to her personal mobile phone.

She said she has been harassed by what she calls 'religious fanatics' angry over her campaign for the right to die.

Ms Tobin is a 50 year old former nun who was diagnosed with the disease 4 years ago.

According to the report, a man rang her and said the words 'we'll end your life, we know where you live, we know you're sick, we're coming to get you, we can put you out of your misery".

Kate described the incident as 'very frightning' and was left completely shook by the threats.

Gardai are investigating whether the calls were made by a pro-life activist.
