A search for a missing youth has been stood down as a body recovered on Bunmahon beach was identified as that of Cathal Sweeney.
The 23 year old had been missing from Parliament Street in Waterford City since the 5th of January.
A body was found near Trá Na Strella Beach in Bunmahon last Sunday and Gardaí have now confirmed that the body has been identified as his.
They have thanked the media and the public for their as help.

Cathal's family have also expressed their gratitude for all who assisted in searching for him and say they're "shocked and devastated" at the news.
