A public meeting will take place in Clonmel tonight looking at the issue of suicide prevention.
It's part of the HSE's action plan for 2015 to 2020, which will see every county taking part in efforts to raise awareness and the supports available.
Tonight's meeting is the second one in the county, the first was held in Tipperary Town last Thursday.
Tracy Nugent is the HSE's Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention in the South East
She told Beat News there was a good response to last weeks meeting:
"We had big numbers, really good quality of information, people really wanted to make a contribution to the plan."
"Tonight is Clonmel in the Park Hotel from 7pm to 9pm, next Thursday is in Glengoole in the Family Resource Centre, also from 7pm to 9pm and then the following week is in Carrick-On-Suir."
"We've spread them across South Tipperary because people might be more comfortable making a contribution to plan in their own local areas."
She outlines what other steps they're taking alongside these public meetings:
"We're having a big youth consultation on Saturday the 23rd of April and we're linking in with the big youth organistions in South Tipperary around that."
"We've done focus group sessions with the members of the Traveller community, with people who have experience of using mental health services and we'll have a consultation with stakeholders (people who work in the area of suicide prevention) so we're trying to do as comprehensive a consultation as possible before the plan is put together."
