The Waterford Greenway should stay completely free for users.
That's according to a Waterford Councillor and comes after a proposed idea to charge five euro to users of the Greenway car parks.
Councillor Damien Geoghegan is a member of Waterford City and County Council.
He says he rejects the idea completely:
"This is a proposal that ws put forward by a Sinn Fein Counillor at a meeting this month and it's one that I would completely reject out of hand.
"The Greenway has been a phenomenal sucuess for Waterford City and County since it opened last March.
"We've had a fantastic summer from a tourism point of view, but the notion that we would now, or at any stage, put a charge on motorists or visitors is something that would have to be rejected out of hand".
