PrepayPower has confirmed that it's putting up its electricity prices by almost ten per cent in December.
Its unit prices are going up by 9-point-9 per cent, however, the provider is not increasing gas prices.
Bonkers.ie estimated the increase will add around €200 to customers' annual electricity bills based on average usage, impacting close to 170,000 customers.
The price increase will take effect from Thursday, December 1st.

"It could have been worse," Bonkers.ie's head of communications Daragh Cassidy said.
"Even after today's announcement, PrepayPower still has the lowest electricity unit rate in the market.
"It's not increasing gas prices. It still has the lowest gas unit rate in the market as well.
"It is kind of unheard of in the energy market because usually, you do pay a premium for prepay energy.
This follows a move from Bord Gáis at the beginning of the month to increase electricity bills by an average of 34 per cent and gas bills by 39 per cent.
The company blamed significant increases in wholesale energy costs for inflation.
Bord Gáis had already increased its average electricity bill by 27% and its average gas bill by 39% in March, having last year raised electricity prices three times last year and gas prices twice.
