Management at Dungarvan Community Hospital is planning towards a phased re-opening of beds.
The Sacred Heart Unit's sudden closure sparked a protest march in the area last May.
The phased reopening in the Co. Waterford hospital will begin on September 11th.
The unit closed last May with the loss of 19 beds, adding to an earlier loss of seven beds.
A HSE representative said in accordance with clinical safety, they need nurses to ensure the hospital can operate at full capacity - which they are working towards.
The HSE is continuing its rolling campaign to attract registered nurses - positions remain on offer at Dungarvan Community Hospital.
