The Dublin Airport Authority in insisting that people flying out of the Country for the bank holiday weekend should arrive at least two and half hours before short-haul flight departures.

It says arrival time should be three and a half hours for long-haul flights.

Over 400,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport between tomorrow and Monday.

Graeme McQueen of the D.A.A. says the through-put times experienced in recent weeks have improved dramatically.

"Times for getting through security have been improving all the time."

"We're the vast majority of passengers through in 30 minutes, it does spike up a little bit from time-to-time though, and that's why we're still recommending that if you are flying this weekend to allow 2 hours before a short-haul flight and 3 hours before a long-haul flight."

"If you're checking in a bag, we recommend adding an hour to those times."
