A female pedestrian has died following an accident in Kilkenny on Sunday evening.
The pedestrian who is believed to be in her 50s was fatally injured after she was involved in a collision with a car at around 6pm on Green Street, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was not injured.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic examination of the crash scene but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Green Street, Callan, or who drove through the town at about 6pm to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 7775000.
