More than 100 domestic abuse incidents are now being reported across the country every day.
The figures - reported in the Irish Mail on Sunday - show over 2,000 of them were in the South East this year.
The figures show there was a total of 24,686 reported incidents of domestic abuse in the first nine months of the year.
653 of them were in Waterford, the highest in the South East.
It's followed by 649 in Tipperary, 546 in Carlow and Kilkenny and 498 in Wexford.
According to the Irish Mail on Sunday Ireland is now dealing with a domestic abuse epidemic.
The figures were confirmed by the Department of Justice following a parliamentary question by the TD Michael McNamara.
