More than 12,500 further cases of Covid-19 have been reported today
5,381 cases were confirmed through a PCR test, while 7,127 people logged a positive antigen test result on the HSE's online portal.
1,610 people are in hospital with the virus, of whom 49 are being treated in ICU.
The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital has increased by 5 in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the laws giving power to Covid restrictions will be allowed lapse tomorrow.
The Government hasn't sought any extension for the powers with Taoiseach Micheál Martin saying economic restrictions can't be justified.
He's faced calls to re-introduce some measures to deal with the rising number of Covid cases.
But the Taoiseach says those cases are not leading to serious illness.
However, Covid data is predicting a possible peak of 2,200 hospitals cases in the next seven to ten days.
It comes as some bodies call for the reintroduction of masks in public settings.
