As the cleanup begins after Storm Ophelia, forecasters are warning of another storm hitting the South East this weekend.
Storm Brian will pass through Ireland on Friday and Saturday, bringing more rain and strong winds.
TV3 weather forecaster Deric Ó hArtagáin tweeted about the incoming storm earlier this morning.
BREAKING: This is not good news. Currently developing for Friday/Sat. Similiar low pressure intensity as #Ophelia This is #StormBrian. pic.twitter.com/z0cjJKSe0T

He said "it's still very early days in terms of another storm system but we will monitor closely & keep you updated if it progresses."
Local forecaster Waterford Weather also warned of the incoming system.
As we say goodbye to #Ophelia we look to Fri into Sat for the next storm. England, Wales or possibly Southern Ireland in its track pic.twitter.com/es6uFVm68C

Storm Brian is the second storm to be named this season by Met Eireann and the UK Met Office.
Research has shown that named storms have shown further increases in awareness and action taken in response to people hearing of a named storm
Meanwhile, Met Eireann forecaster John Eagleton told the Irish Independent that Storm Brian is "a moving depression rather than a hurricane. It's moving south and will bring a lot of rain and strong winds. I don't think it will hit Ireland as hard as it will hit the UK."
