A video has been circulating online of a number of cars which look to have gotten into some difficulty due to the freezing weather conditions.
The video shows the aftermath of around six crashed vehicles including one which appears to have turned over onto it's side.
The incident allegedly happened near the popular Brooklodge hotel in Co. Wicklow.
It is unknown at this time if there have been any injuries.
It comes as a status yellow weather warning for ice was issued across Ireland until Saturday afternoon with Met Éireann continuing to forecast cold weather for the weekend.
A new status yellow ice warning came into effect at 5pm today (Saturday) for 18 counties.
There'll be ice in places leading to hazardous travelling conditions, especially on untreated roads and paths as well as rain with wintry falls locally, which will fall on already frozen surfaces.
The alert will last until 9am on Sunday morning.
Conditions for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day won't be known until early next week.
