WIT Arena has today announced it's first ever sports ambassador.
Irish Women's Rugby International Niamh Briggs was officially unveiled in the role in a special ceremony at the arena today.
A Waterford native, Briggs is a former WIT graduate and is currently preparing for the women's Rugby World Cup which is taking place in Ireland this year.
Speaking to Beat News, she said she was delighted with the role.
"I'm thrilled to be their first sports ambassador here in this unbelievable facility."
"When I came down a few weeks ago and got the tour I was blown away by it."
"I'm a proud Waterford woman and having attended the college many, many years ago I'm delighted to be back."
"To be able to use these facilities is top notch and it's just what I need to get back on the road."
