Every child in the South East will be able to avail of free music, arts and coding tuition from next year.
That's because of a new initiative by Creative Ireland running from 2017 to 2022.
Tipperary, Wexford, Waterford, Carlow & Kilkenny local authorities also will have to outline five-year plans for how they'll improve cultural programmes in their counties.
It'll have an initial budget allocation of €5 million spread across every county in the country.
The plan will also seek to make Ireland an international 'centre of excellence' in media such as television and film production.
The plan is based on five key pillars:
1. Enabling the creative potential of every child in the country.
2. Enabling creativity in every community.
3. Investing in creative and cultural infrastructure.
4. Building Ireland as a centre of excellence for media production.
5. Unifying Ireland's global reputation.
The councils will be given some extra funding by the Government. They will then appoint a culture team to implement cultural plans locally.
Every council will have to publish their own cultural plan next year.
