A 2.9 Million Euro investment has been announced for Waterford by Affidea.
The diagnostics company provides imaging services including MRI, Ultrasound and X-Ray.
It plans to open the facility in Ardkeen, Waterford this June to serve the county and surrounding area.
The company is creating 10 jobs.
Tom Finn is CEO of Affidea Ireland.
He spoke to Beat News, saying that the Waterford expansion was high on the priority list.
"We have a very aggressive expansion plan throughout Ireland to have a geographic footprint so that our diagnostic services are never very far away from patients."
"We saw Waterford as being a very important stratigic component of that expansion plan."
"Since then, we identified a site and have gone through the planning process and building commenced on the site last Wednesday."
