Gardaí in Co. Cork have arrested a drunken motorist who fled the scene of an accident on just three wheels.
When stopped by Gardaí on Friday last the motorist was found to be in an intoxicated state with the interior of the van strewn with cans of Carling beer.
It is reported that the driver of the white Renault Kangoo van in question struck the side of a silver SEAT Alhambra people carrier on Main Street in Kilworth Village.
On witnessing the accident, passers-by contacted emergency services.
Gardaí were dispatched and quickly caught up with the rogue motorist, who had made little progress on three wheels.
The driver was arrested on counts of drink-driving, while an investigation file will be prepared in relation to other offences arising from the collision.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt, but we'd certainly recommend a professional valet on the interior of the van...
Taking to Facebook, Southern Region Garda Siochána said: "Earlier today, Friday, a parked car was struck by a passing van on the Main Street of Kilworth village. Witnesses rang 999 and reported the incident. The offending vehicle did not get too far on its three remaining wheels.
