Motorist fined for parking outside home he's lived in for over 20 years

A motorist in Scotland is vowing to go to court after he was fined for parking outside the home he's lived in for 22 years.

The Daily Record reports that Mark Shrimpton discovered he received a fixed charge notice after leaving his home at 7 am to walk his dog.

It's the first time the Alpha Solway employee has been slapped with a fine for parking outside his home.

A confused Mark claims that police pass his home at least twice every day and have never issued a ticket.

While the 62-year-old confesses the car was parked on an unlit road when he received the fine, he reasoned that he has no other choice as his wife and daughter use the home drive for their vehicles.

Mark went on to call his local police station, however, local law enforcers say the ticket can't be revoked.

The irked motorist is now refusing to pay the fine, telling The Daily Record that he is prepared to go to court over the matter.

“I need to know one way or another what the situation is as I could potentially receive a parking ticket every day for the rest of my life," he said.
