There has been mixed reaction on Twitter to a post by Gardaí.
A driver was caught entering the M8 motorway on the wrong side in Co. Tipperary.
While on patrol, Cahir Gardaí intercepted the vehicle, and stopped the driver.
Officers made the discovery that the driver had gotten confused while using their Sat Nav.
Gardaí said that the driver was "lucky" it was a Garda car that met them.
Taking to Twitter, Garda Traffic said:
"This vehicle entered the M8 motorway the wrong way. Thankfully for everyone, the first car that they met were the Cahir Gardaí on patrol, who quickly intercepted them."
"It was found that the driver had gotten confused while using their satnav."

While the driver is reported safe and sound, there has been good and bad responses to the tweet.
Some are siding with Gardaí, reiterating that they are glad no serious accident unfolded due to the drivers mistake, while others are not really having any of it1
This user says "one could only imagine horrendous consequences if they had entered onto the motorway in front off articulated truck. Garda Traffic prevented a possible disaster".
While another said "I am sorry, but confused by satnav is no excuse. Looking out through 3 Sq meters of glass in front of you and an ounce of common sense would tell you what’s wrong with your driving."
