Met Éireann issues weather warning for two South East counties

A status yellow weather warning will be in place in two counties in the South East tomorrow morning.

Met Éireann have confirmed that the weather warning advisory is for strong winds.

It will be in effect from 5am Thursday morning and will run to 11am for Waterford and Wexford.

The warning is advising the public to mindful that winds and widespread gusts have a potential to reach between 90 and 110km per hour.

The warning will also be in place for Cork and Kerry.

The national forecaster says the coastal counties may experience wild waves along the coastline as a direct result of the strong gusts.

"Very strong and gusty south to southwest winds with the potential for wave overtopping."

People are being advised in these counties to take extra care during the weather warning advisory, particularly when out and about, on the road or near an oceanfront.
