Mass testing of all staff in meat processing factories for Covid-19 has resumed.
The HSE suspended the programme last week because of the number of people coming forward with coronavirus symptoms in the community.
According to SIPTU, 1,500 staff in meat plants have tested positive since the pandemic began, including some in the South East.
Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue told the Dáil last night the serial testing regime resumed on Monday:
"We see the serial testing continuing aswell at the best capacity that's allowed depending on what the resource levels required in the community are."
