Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to an alleged assault on Connolly Street in Kilkenny on St Patrick's Day.
A 30-year-old man was struck on the head and got a cut above his eye and on the side of his face between 9:30pm and 10pm.
He was brought to hospital where he received stitches.
The attacker fled on a bike and any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Gardaí in Kilkenny.
