Update:
A man has died following a crash outside Carlow earlier this morning.
The three-car collision happened after 7am on the southbound lane between Junction 4 Castldermot and Junction 5 Carlow.
A man in his 80s, was taken to St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny in a serious condition, where he later died.
Another man in his 30s was taken to hospital and his condition is described as serious.
A woman in her 30s was also taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny to be treated for her injuries which are described as non-life-threatening.
The road was closed but has since reopened and Gardaí are asking any witnesses to come forward.

A man in his 80s who was the driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of a second car, a man in his 30s was airlifted to hospital, while a woman in her 20s who was driving the third car sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
